We all know the stories when it comes to extra terrestrials - and many of us enjoy a good episode of "Ancient Aliens" as a guilty pleasure, right? Abductions, probes, and even visitations have become part of the average person's vocabulary - and for good reason. Aliens are cool... am I wrong? Coolness, abductions and probes aside, what would a set of blue beings from space want to do if ever visiting our neck of the woods? If they're anything like the cool human dudes of "Alien Abduction" the answer is simple. Have some fun and get wasted! Shae Sterling and his troupe are banking on the universal appeal of having a good time - and "Alien Addiction" is definitely not stingy when it comes to that department - not at all.
First and foremost, I just want to say that watching this film really was a good time. For those old enough to remember, Sterling's movie reminded me of the old "Porky's" movies in so many ways - again, a good thing. "Alien Addiction" features two blue aliens who quite by accident, discover a kick-ass drug presumably only found on earth. The ultimate ganja they can vaporize and inhale using their alien bong. In case you're wondering, that's where the "addiction" part of this film comes in because the aliens do, in fact, become hooked. With that said, you'll never guess what does the trick for our small-mouthed friends - feces. That's right folks, human shit. Through their new friend Riko, our alien stoners go on quite an adventure filled with dope and laughs. And I couldn't help but wonder if that kick-ass way the aliens walk has something to do with their new-found addiction? It doesn't, and jokes aside, I really enjoyed this flick - and anyone who has a weak spot for stupid funny movies probably will as well. Stoners and poop smoking aliens - what's not to like? Still not convinced? That's fine, because there's a lot more going on in this film - I'm just trying not to spoil things for you. We've got a crazy aunt, who provides more than enough comic relief. We've got segments involving laxatives... duh... the aliens need their poop, and even two baddies who want to exploit the aliens, completing this crazy adventure. As I said above, what's not to like? It's all here and fun as hell to watch unfold.
Normally, I would go into a technical rant at about this point. However, I don't have a whole lot to write. "Alien Addiction" actually looked and sounded pretty damn good. I'm not saying you can't tell this is a low-budget film, rather that the low-budget look actually compliments the movie. And man oh man, those alien heads are frickin' awesome! It's safe to say that "Alien Addiction" doesn't look major studio, but if it did it wouldn't have been as funny. I should also note that the acting is also perfectly suited to this film, making the characters into fun exaggerations that you can't help but laugh at. That's all I'm going to write on the subject because quite frankly, you should see for yourself and thank me later. At the end of the day, "Alien Addiction" is for anyone who still has that college sense of humor. This film is crude, sometimes rude, but funny as hell. Although later in the film, a slightly more serious tone interferes with the slap-stick nature of this flick, it's hardly noticed by the end and "Alien Addiction" just zoomed by. This one is for people like me, who enjoy a flick that aims to please by not taking itself to seriously. A solid four stars. |
