FAQ
IndyRed.com has been around for more than a few years. We've seen changes both good and bad, made a lot of friends and have generally had one hell of a time! The basic ideal we live by is that we love film. All film! It has always been understood that Indie or Low budget productions have always been overlooked. IndyRed has tried to help change that.

A key point we're all quite proud of is the mix of industry communities and regular viewers. As some sites have built up their respective following of filmmakers, actors and producers, we've also focused on actual viewers and the regular movie watching public. IndyRed's estimated traffic consists of 40% viewers, as opposed to similar Indie themed sites with about 90% of the traffic being industry related. For us that's quite a big feat.

General Info

What is IndyRed?
IndyRed is a site dedicated to Independent and Low/No budget film, short film and web series. We also collect and store all the press productions and press kits we have received over the years. This has led to a "Hard Copy Archive" we are proud to have amassed. ( See below Topic: Acquired Materials and Archive )

How long has IndyRed been around?
IndyRed, as it is known today started in 2009. Prior to 2009, IndyRed had existed since 2007 as a completely different site/service.

Does Independent mean a Low Budget Movie?
No. Independent is any production not paid for by a major studio or is personally financed. A film could have a budget of ten million and still be Independent.

Do you only take Low Budget Movies?
No. We take all productions.

Do you take Web Series or One Off Videos?
Yes and no. We take web series and on occasion accept "One off videos", Editors discretion.

How Do I submit my production?
Via our submission pages or buttons. Click HERE

Why is the wait time so long for a review?
IndyRed has been on the incline for a few years now. As the site traffic grows so do the submissions. As the submissions grow a backlog begins. Our advice? Get your submissions in as soon as possible. Or try our paid Expedited Review service. ( See Below )

Acquired Materials and Returns
Do we get our submissions returned? No. Please keep that in mind. Do we ever hand them off to someone else not relating to IndyRed? No. Never. Do we collect? Yes. All materials we collect go into our archive of hard copies and related materials. Do we collect press kits and memorabilia? Yes! Do you have posters, press kits and other interesting things relating to your production? Send them along! Sign them! We are die hard collectors and have displays! If you send a really cool poster that is signed... odds are it will end up in a display or poster casing on our walls for everyone to see! Collecting is part of the fun of being Indie! Will you get brownie points with us? Yup. You sure will. Will it have any bearing on your review? No. Sadly not. That wouldn't be fair would it?

A note on our collecting of Memorabilia. We generally don't return as we have stated above. However, if something bad happens and you, as the production team needs a copy of something you may have sent us... we will gladly forward one to you. One of the perks of having an archive is the ability to bring up a hard copy when needed. Has this type of thing ever happened? Yes. As a matter of fact it has.

Paid Services

Does paying for an expedited review mean the review will be good?
No. You're paying for the expedited service to get your film moved up our long list. You're also paying to get your film in front of a writer, to watch and then write and publish a review. What kind of reaction the reviewer has to your production has nothing to do with paying to expedite your service.

Why charge to submit my film at all?
As we've stated above, our backlog of productions in waiting is quite long. Our expedited service allows you to bypass that line and get eyes on your production quickly. Are you going public with a screening in 2 weeks? Getting a review out before that happens is sometimes beneficial. It also doesn't hurt to help support a site that like you... is Independent and struggling to stay up and running.

Can I get a bad review removed from the site?
Generally no. Just because you don't like the opinion of a reviewer doesn't make it any less work to review and write. Our reviewers write the best possible critique they can. It takes time to watch a film. It takes time to write the review and it takes time to edit. No matter the content, our writers are proud of what they have written. Taking reviews offline can be insulting.
With that said - generally if you ask, we will consider removing the review. Also keep in mind that any review that scores under a 2 star rating, we will ask before publishing.

What kind of Ads can I run?
We offer advertising on our site at low rates. We're independent - just like you - and know the value of a buck. We have numerous Ad choices. Please see our Services page for more info.

Why Advertise with us?
IndyRed has been growing for years. What makes us a little different than a lot of sites? It's the traffic itself. We not only have a large amount of industry related traffic... we also have a large amount of viewers. People that check our site simply because they enjoy short films and independent productions. Normally, a site like ours consists mainly of industry related people. We've always taken pride in offering a site that hosts regular viewers as well.

What kind of Ads can I run Part 2?
Totally your call! Our Ads are not limited to industry related topics... although the more related the ad the better. Crowdfunding campaigns? Trailers? Websites? Facebook pages? You git it!
