By the time I hit episode three (of six) I already had my mind made up. I really liked this web series. "Through The Door" features arguing couples, a different couple each episode. Let me tell you that this is some funny shit! When thinking of the term argument, you may ask why you would want to watch one? Personally, I hate arguments so what could possibly be so funny? Truth is, this is not your standard mean, screaming and ranting type of fight. These arguments range from mildly amusing to down-right hilarious. From the topics themselves, right down to the jokes and style within make this series a winner. Think Married With Children meets... the true to life couple next door! If everyone argued like these people, TV networks would be paying a fortune to install cameras in every house under the sun. Wouldn't that be something? I only wish all people bickered this way. The world would be a much happier place.
Technically, I don't have a lot to write with this one. Everything is actually pretty damn good. Since it's mainly an indoor series, it doesn't require any real special treatment. What I can say is that I liked the simplicity and straight forward nature of the production. What's needed is presented, and the complex "eye candy" shots are kept to a minimum. I feel this approach enhanced the narrative the script was trying to create. Script? Did a script even exist? I only ask because the dialog is so well done, and the acting seems so real, (and funny) that it almost feels like improv. "Through The Door" also features some good sound and a nicely paced edit. As I wrote above. No complaints. Great production all around. This is a funny series, one you'll laugh at even watching it the second time around. On one hand, those of us who fight with our partners may see something familiar here; at the same time you'll laugh at the over-the-top nature of the topics. If this stuff seems completely normal to you... than maybe you should send a recording over to Writer Andy Kushnir or Director Michael Malarkey. Maybe the next episode of "Through The Door" will be based on you. As for the possibility of more episodes actually hitting the net any time soon... we'll simply have to wait and see. One thing is for sure though, they've got a new viewer in me. -JT Other Reviews That May Interest You
